Here we are analysing the search visibility and SEO improvements that could be made for the company Tech Station (www.techstation.co.uk) which is based in Chesterfield and focused on computer and laptop repairs.
Duplicate On Page Factors
There are several key on page factors that should be optimised to rank a website in Google, and these are:
- Page title
- Meta description
However this website has many duplicate instances of titles, descriptions and h1 headers, which can result in them being penalised by the Panda algorithm within Google. This would lead to lower rankings and less visibility as a result.
They should aim to optimise each page for its own individual terms, and then add these terms and variations to the elements listed above.
Lack of Schema.org Markup on Tech Station
Their website doesn’t contain the key local markup to tell Google where they are and what they’re about. This is a large oversight, especially as they are trying to rank in a local search result.
They should add this and include their “sameAs” properties to show Google where their major citations are located.
No Inbound Links
Being the largest ranking factor in Google, getting quality and authoritative inbound links are essential to rank in any competitive industry.
However as the image above shows, according to Ahrefs they have virtually no backlinks of any authority to speak of, which will greatly limit their appearance within Google.
The website currently ranks on page 2 for “computer repair Chesterfield”, and considering the lack of optimisation that has been done I would think they would be one page 1 just by completing the things mentioned in this audit.
